Double Major Program

Molecular Biology and Genetics Department Double Major Program

According to the AGU Double Major Directive,

For a student's application to a double major program to be valid, they must meet the following requirements:

  1. Must have received at least a C or S grade in all courses taken in the major undergraduate program up to the semester of application and have a GPA of at least 3.20,
  2. The student must be in the top 20% of the class in which he/she is registered, and for those who do not meet this requirement, he/she must have a score not less than the base score of the relevant year for the program in which he/she will pursue a double major,
  3. The student must be enrolled in the major undergraduate program at the earliest at the beginning of the third semester and at the latest at the beginning of the fifth semester.

COMPULSORY COURSES

  • Students are required to take all of the compulsory courses in the MBG curriculum listed in Table 1. In the double major program, students are required to take at least 12 courses with a minimum of 60 ECTS credits, excluding courses common to or equivalent to the major program.
  • All concentration area elective courses must have an MBG code (Table 2).
  • The equivalent status of the courses will be evaluated by our department's adjustment committee.

Molecular Biology and Genetics Department Double Minor Program

According to AGU Minor Directive;

  1. Must be successful in all courses taken in the major undergraduate program up to the semester of application and have a GPA of at least 2.75,
  2. The student must be at the beginning of the third semester at the earliest and at the beginning of the sixth semester at the latest, starting from the first semester of enrollment in the major undergraduate program (amended by the Senate Decision No. 38.03 dated 27.11.2019.)

COMPULSORY COURSES

  • Among the compulsory courses in the MBG curriculum, students are required to take at least 30 ECTS and at least 6 courses from the courses listed in Table 3 (in case of equivalent courses, at least 4 courses and a total of 20 ECTS).
  • The equivalent status of the courses will be evaluated by our department's adjustment committee.
